The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Brian Lee Thomas, DOB 10/06/64, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.
Thomas was convicted in 2013 in Manatee County of Traveling to Meet a Parent to Solicit/Entice a Child to Commit a Sex Act, Use of a Computer to Solicit a Parent to Commit Sex Acts with a Child, and Attempted Lewd or Lascivious Battery with a Victim Less than 16 Years Old. He was sentenced to 63 months in prison followed by three years of probation. Thomas was just released from prison and reports he will be staying at the Knights Inn, 5340 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. Thomas is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections and is not allowed to live within 1,000 feet of a school, daycare facility, park or playground.
This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
