Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant related to stolen property investigation and discovered methamphetamine manufacturing.

Detectives obtained information that a 42-year-old Sarasota resident, Jon Goodman, was responsible for thefts of trailers and other property within Hillsborough County.  Detectives then began an investigation which revealed Goodman did in fact have stolen property at 2437 Vinson Avenue, his Sarasota residence.  Detectives, working in collaboration with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at this residence which resulted in the recovery of stolen property to include two golf carts and two trailers.  During the search, detectives also found chemicals and materials consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine on the property.

Goodman has prior arrests related to narcotics violations, fraud, and fleeing to elude the police.  He is currently on drug offender probation until 2019. He is currently incarcerated in the Hillsborough County jail on charges related to violation of probation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

SCSO detectives obtained arrest warrants for Jon Goodman, DOB 5/18/76, charging him with Possession of Altered Stolen Property, Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure, Grand Theft, and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon.  This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are expected related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
