The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 38-year-old convicted felon for Trafficking in Heroin among other felony charges.
The investigation launched in March when Stefan Mattox, DOB 01/27/80, agreed to sell rock cocaine to undercover detectives. On two separate occasions on March 26 and 29, Mattox met detectives and sold more nearly 12 grams of the drug. On Thursday, detectives executed an arrest warrant and took Mattox into custody. At the time of his arrest, detectives recovered nearly 6 grams of heroin inside his vehicle.
Mattox, of 1021 Big Pine Road, is charged with Trafficking in Heroin, two counts of Sale of Cocaine, and Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony. He was released Friday on $95,000 bond. Mattox has nearly two dozen prior arrests in Sarasota County for crimes including Trafficking in Percocet, Sale of Hydromorphone, Sale of Cocaine, Driving While License Revoked, and more. Mattox was released from prison in 2016.
