The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after he stabbed a man and fled from the scene at the Beneva Place Apartments.

Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Queens Street around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, for a report of a stabbing. Deputies made contact with the victim, who said he was sitting on the back porch with his friend when 28-year-old Brendan Sheridan attacked and stabbed him with a knife. The victim was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment. The victim's friend, who resides at the apartment with Sheridan, said Sheridan fled shortly after the incident.

Sheridan is charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. He was released Wednesday evening on $100,000 bond.
