The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Victor Garay Jr., DOB 09/08/66, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.
Garay was convicted on one count of Lewd or Lascivious Behavior: Victim 12-16 Years of Age by an Offender 18 Years of Age or Older in 2011. He was sentenced in Sarasota County to eight years in prison followed by five years of probation. Garay was just released from prison and reports his address will be 3636 Colorado Street in Sarasota. He currently under the supervision of the Department of Corrections however, is not allowed to live within 1,000 feet of a school, childcare facility, park or playground.
This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county, or following a release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from the FDLE of sex offender and predator registrations.
