James Hutchins
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is advising the public that James Wayne Hutchins, DOB 11/26/47, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.
Hutchins was convicted of Attempted Criminal Solicitation on a Child Under 12 in Polk County in 1984 and sentenced to 17 years in prison. In 2012, he was convicted of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon without Intent to Kill and sentenced to an additional five years behind bars. His history includes Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Grand Theft and Forgery. Hutchins was just released from prison and reports his new address is 7558 Parrish Street in North Port. He is not currently under the supervision of the Department of Corrections and because he was convicted prior to 2004, residency restrictions do not apply.
This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
