On Friday June 2, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Artemio Aneuber, DOB 10/23/1966, for falsely presenting himself as an electrical contractor and possession of marijuana.

Detectives received information that Aneuber was advertising on Craigslist as a handyman and electrical contractor under a fictitious business name, Blue Monkey Electric.  Detectives positively identified Aneuber and learned that he had two outstanding warrants for forgery and falsely presenting himself as a contractor.

Posing as a homeowner, detectives conducted an undercover sting which resulted in the arrest of Aneuber for his outstanding arrest warrants and an additional charge of falsely presenting himself as an electrical contractor in Sarasota County. Subsequent to his arrest, detectives also found marijuana in his possession and Aneuber was charged with this crime as well.

Since 2012, the sheriff’s office has assigned detectives to investigate claims against people who engage in contracting work without proper licenses, permits or certification.
