The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is advising the public that Solomon Brodie, DOB 2/23/79, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

Brodie was convicted of Lewd or Lascivious Battery on a Victim Under 15 in April 2004 in Sarasota County and sentenced to time served in county jail and three years of probation. His history includes Sale of Cocaine and Possession of Methamphetamine for which he served a three-year prison sentence. Brodie was just released and reports his address will be 514 Barcelona Avenue in Venice. He is not currently under the supervision of the Department of Corrections and because Brodie was convicted prior to October 2004, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following a release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
