With the technological advances made over the
past decade, Law Enforcement Agencies across the United States are seeing a
large increase in the number of identity theft cases. In fact some statistics show
an increase as high as a 700% since 1990.
Many people have questions on how they can
protect themselves and their credit from this type of fraud. The

If You Believe You Are a
Victim of Identity Theft If you believe you are a victim of Identity
Theft you must take steps quickly in ensure that further damage is not done
to your credit. You will need to file a report with the Sheriff's
Office or your local Law Enforcement Agency. This can be done by
coming in to the Sheriff's Office Front Desk at any time, they are open 24
hours a day. You will be given a packet with some information as well
as an ID Theft Affidavit which you will need to complete. You can
download the ID Theft Packet including the Affidavit from this Web page to
save yourself time.
